To Minster Lovell we went minus The Hoare who had a family emergency. First on in the singles was The Reaper, A close game but lost 2-1 on doubles. Next on was yours truly, messed around a little in the first leg but an easy 2-0 win. The Kangaroo man was up next, played well but old Charlie was on some form and Chris lost 2-0. The third on for us was Clintos The Greek, never really looked like winning and lost 2-0. Jabber was on 4th and played well but the final bit just eluded himandhe lost 2-0. Last on for the CODS was Cliff The Swaying Mantis Southam, played his normal game of late which is getting better and better, an easy 2-0 win. The pairs on next and an easy 2-0 win for me and the Reaper, Cods now back to 3-4 down. The next pair on was Kibbey and Chivers, played well and tried hard to bring the game into a tie break but it was not to be, lost 2-0. Last on for the CODS was Colin and Cliff, played well and were unfortunate to lose 2-0, which makes a 6-3 loss for the CODS, the result flattered them a lot and to be fair this is the worst we have played for two seasons. At this point I must apologise to my team members for losing it after the first pairs, after we won that game one of their players refused to shake hands and accused me of calling him a fat c**t, I mean, as if someone needed to tell him what would have been plainly obvious to all after two minutes of being in the same room with him! The guy had spent most of the evening with one snide comment after another directed at me, Anyway I lost it and spent the rest of the night ranting and performing like Tiger Woods in a brothel for which I am sorry because I have no doubt that this contributed to us losing the last two pairs. I am sure we have all done similar at some point or another and in me trying to take issue with the lack of respect and sportsmanship of this person I became at best as bad as him and probably even worse at the end of the evening, hey ho life goes on and you cannot undo what has already been done. My apologies also to the unoffending members of his team, normally I would just have made a couple of sarcastic comments and let it pass but alas hindsight great but only after the event. Its all Andy's fault for not turning up :)
