Game Review

The Elm tree was tonights venue, Arrived in good time (Clint driving) and looking forward to it. Not a bad bunch of guys, very loud and in your face - reminds me of us really...  First on in the singles was the bespectacled Swaying Mantis, he started with them on, then off, then on again and ended up with them off. Still romped home 2-0 and played well again. Next up was Clintos The Greek Chivers, The Elm tree guy had a great game and Clint just could not match the scoring, going down 2-0. Next up was the Grim Reaper, in a hard fought encounter with his long lost twin brother the Reaper came in 2-1 winner. Next up was yours truly and I scored well but on both occasions with my opponent needing over 200 I ended up on double 1 and lost 2-0, what a prat and then threw my toys out of the pram as well - class. The Hoare was next to restore some pride which he did in style, Andy's best game yet, looked comfortable and easily won 2-0. Last on for the CODS was the Kangaroo man, Chris played well and in a close game was just pipped 2-1 by the Elm tree man. 3-3 after the singles when we really should have been 5-1 so it is all on the pairs. First pair on for the CODS was The Mantis and Chris Jabber Green, although the mantis and jabber played well they were just beaten by the Elm Tree pair with Jason from the Elm tree having another very good game. With us now 5-4 down we now need to win the last two games to keep our unbeaten streak. On for the CODS was Nikkiboy and the Grim Reaper, stormed ahead in the first leg but faffed around on the double again, ended up on double 1 and lost, in the second leg we again outscored the Elm Tree guys but found ourselves on double 1 again, difference being that this time I hit it - woohoo a double. Third and deciding leg was the same, outscored them and just found th double with my last dart, score now 4-4 and the Hoare and the Kangaroo on next, tension was high and the nerves were jangling around the board with the exception of two people, thankfully those two were The Hoare and The Kangaroo Man, both played outstandingly well and stormed the game 2-0 to secure a 5-4 win for the CODS by the skin of Jabbers penis. This was by far our hardest game yet and the boys came through trumps well done to all, also a special note goes to Colin No Idea Bird who was due to play the pairs but sat out to let me play. Thanks also to Clare and Yogi who came and supported us. Good game guys and gals and onto the 4 a side next week with a little confidence.
