A win for CODS!
Game Review
So the long wait is finally over and we can begin our winter ampaign. A couple of new faces have joined the team in the form of Graham "The Grim Reaper" Woodward, Kevin Dursley and the returning Colin Bird. First up in the singles for the CODS was Chris "kangaroo Jack" Kibbey, he played really well and won 2-1. Second up was Clintos "The Greek" Chivers, sporting his new neckware Clintos never got started and lost 2-0. Next up was yours truly in a game I just want to forget, double trouble starting off meant I had no chance and ended with the worst performance of the night. Third up for us was Chris "Jabber" Green who threw excellent darts and won 2-0 comfortably. Game now tied at 2-2 and up steps Graham "Grim Reaper" Woodward, faultered a little in the end but a solid performance and a welcom 2-1 win. The Hoare was next and never got started either and was beaten 2-0. Game now tied at 3-3 the only change was Colin "ain't Got a" Bird came in for Clintos. Although him and Kibbey played well the Pigeons pair were a little too strong and won 2-1. Next pair up is me and jabber in a game we need to win. Jabber played well again getting both winning double and I even hit one of the starting doubles for a 2-0 win - Woohoo! so now we are all square and into a decider, Grim reaper and The Hoare kept us in suspense as the match was held in the balance but a great double 4 from the Reaper ensured a 2-1 win and a CODS match score of 5-4, well done the lads what a great team effort, with me, Andy and The Greek all losing our singles Jabber, Kibbey and Graham really stepped up and played really well in their singles games, well done lads! The Pigeons are not a bad bunch but in truth we should have run in 7-2 winners but hey ho we all have bad games now and again and a victory is a victory. The final word of the game has to be about Clare's thong, she was proudly displaying it for most of the evening and me being a gentleman of course pointed it out, she then put the offending article away, much to the dismay of the other male punters. I am sure her other half Mr Kibbey will supply us with photos of said thong later on - NOT. Nice to see Charlie "Fog Horn" Collins out and about in her heavily pregnant state, we just sat her in the middle of the room and treated her as a roundabout. Thanks too to Ben, Jo, Nick Wilsdon, Shelley & Kevin for their support but the whereabouts of a certain bald Welshman remains a mystery.... I wonder if the Tolsey has CCTV of him and his Kebab?
